Under the supervision of a Psychiatrist, provide medical/clinical services to consumers at the team(s) assigned by the Medical/Clinical Director.

STARTING SALARY: $110,000 - $120,000/annually


  1. Provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including prescribing and administering medications.
  2. Provide professional consultation to staff, participate in staff conferences, and serve on clinical committees.
  3. Handle psychiatric emergencies, including mental health hold evaluations and court evaluations.
  4. Complete necessary medical records and reports.
  5. Provide back-up psychiatric coverage throughout the organization during operating hours.
  6. Coordinate psychiatric medical care with physical or non-psychiatric medical care, referring consumers to appropriate medical providers.
  7. Supervise the treatment plans of assigned consumers.
  8. Supervise and consult on medical screen reviews.
  9. Testify at court hearing of consumers as necessary.
  10. Participate on quality assurance, educational, and professional committees as assigned by the Medical/Clinical Director or supervising Psychiatrist.
  11. Participate in program development with the supervising Psychiatrist as assigned.
  12. On a regular basis, meet and consult with the supervising Psychiatrist.
  13. Refer complex medical issues to the supervising Psychiatrist.
  14. Develop and/or participate in research protocols as approved.
  15. Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  16. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Valid Colorado PA Medical License in good standing.


4 years of experience in relevant clinical setting post PA program with experience in psychiatric services in the area of health and psychological assessment, clinical diagnosis, pharmacology, and direct consumer services.


    • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
    • Medical expertise consistent with physician assistant
    • Knowledge of the use of psychotropic and similar drugs.
    • Competency in mental health treatment
    • Ability to work with interdisciplinary team.
    • Communicate effectively with staff and other agencies.



Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.


Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds.   Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
