Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for bank deposits, cash recording and reporting for the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Processing and analyzation of paper and electronic payments received
  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring bank accounts, and all cash related activities and transactions
  • Assist with grant billing preparation
  • Timely preparation of related journal entries in accordance with the close schedule
  • Assist with accounting projects, including improvement of internal controls, monthly close efficiency and reporting
  • Support annual audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility
  • Ad hoc assignments as necessary

EDUCATION:   Associates degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience         

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years accounting experience  

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Handle information about the organization’s finances with confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   None

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds.   Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
