POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager is responsible for monitoring general ledger preparation, assisting in the development of a strong financial team, year-end audit preparation and support of budget and forecast activities. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities. The Accounting Manager will interact with the Controller and other senior level staff which requires strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.


    • Responsible for a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
    • Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year-end activities in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Timely and accurate processing of all bank activities
    • Advise staff regarding appropriate procedures for non-routine activities
    • Respond to enterprise wide inquiries and interpret complicated financial information regarding financial results and special reporting requests
    • Distribute accurate and timely financial reports monthly to the teams, managers, and directors
    • Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with determined schedule
    • Monitor and report on capital expenditure budgets, fixed assets and inventory
    • Maintain and audit the personal financial services (PFS) accounts
    • System administrator for Microsoft Dynamics Navigator application
    • Assist in development, training and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
    • Manage personnel issues of direct reports
    • Support the Controller with special projects and process improvements
    • Responsible for preparation and assistance with year-end audit management and completion

EDUCATION:  BS degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience      

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four years current experience            


    • Advanced computer skills with MS Office, accounting software and databases
    • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
    • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
    • Handle information about the organization’s finances with confidentiality and discretion
    • Must be able to work well with people on all levels


MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds.   Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours
