Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising and providing a safe caring environment for children typically from ages 6 months to 12 years old to the families of those we serve at the Dahlia Campus for Health and Wellbeing. The Dahlia Campus child watch provider is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of each child under their supervision and maintains a creative and playful atmosphere for all participants. Physical activity is typically required, including lifting children, standing and kneeling. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to discuss a child’s progress with parents/caregivers and staff. Strong decision-making skills and good judgment are essential as child watch provider may need to respond to emergencies and difficult situations.


  • Supervise and care for children ages 6 months and older while parents are participating in activities at Dahlia Campus.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the families of those we serve utilizing the child watch services.
  • Maintain a safe, engaging and clean atmosphere for the children and their families
  • Establish regular planning of activities
  • Engage children through arts and crafts, reading, games, physical activities, age-appropriate communication etc. for their mental development
  • Organize toys and materials and ensure a tidy activity area
  • Work with parents to maintain communication and contact parents in emergency situations
  • Develop a cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all the interactive areas sanitary and safe by washing toys and play equipment
  • Carry out housekeeping duties; laundry, errands, cleaning, dishwashing as needed
  • Maintain Dahlia Campus internal child watch calendar and communicate effectively with clinicians and families reserving child watch needs.
  • Collaborate with Administrative Assistants and Child Watch Attendant(s) daily around child watch schedule
  • Participate in meetings and/or trainings as requested.
  • Other administrative duties, as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED required. An associate’s degree in early childhood education preferred.

Experience: Minimum three (3) years of child care experience.

Skills and competencies: Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications; Ability to pass background check and drug screening required; Caring and compassionate attitude a must; Friendly, polite, customer-service oriented; Ability to work with persons of all ages from diverse backgrounds; Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices; Spanish bilingual preferred; ability to engage children of all ages, conflict resolution skills, proficient with Outlook and Microsoft Office.

Machines and Equipment to be used: Computers, calculators, fax machines, telephone and a variety of other office equipment.

Typical Physical Demands: Requires lifting, sitting, standing, bending and reaching, ability to use office equipment.

Typical Mental Demands: Ability to communicate with children and their caregivers from all walks of life.

Working Conditions: Maintain flexible schedule.
