POSITION SUMMARY: Provides connections to comprehensive psychological and behavioral case management services within a continuum of high to low intensity services designed to improve or maintain each person receiving mental health services the ability to function in the community. Focus on providing linkage to services for individuals in county court who have a history of multiple competency filings.

STARTING SALARY:

CMII - $21.13/hr. - $25.37/hr. (Master’s Degree)

LPC - $24.08/hr - $28.88/hr

LCSW - $25.48/hr - $30.55/hr

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct face to face behavioral health assessments, diagnosis and evaluation in the Denver Downtown Detention Center flagged for this pilot diversion program.
  • Collaborate with the Denver Sheriff’s Department and Denver Health Behavioral Health services as appropriate
  • Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention in the Denver Downtown Detention Center upon request
  • Provide a clinical assessment/intake for new Mental Health Center of Denver referrals.
  • Provide transportation to the Recovery Center to conduct a warm handoff after intake assessment is complete. (additional cost for insurance reimbursed)
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with agency standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings and supervisory sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Master (CM II) Degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree. License preferred (LCSW, LPC).

 Must have valid Colorado Driver license and a recent clean driving record. Ability to transport consumers in dependable vehicle.

 As a Clinical Case Manager, you will be providing transportation the people we serve in your vehicle. You are required to carry Business Use coverage on your policy (additional cost is reimbursed).

EXPERIENCE: One-year experience in mental health or human services preferred.

 SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
  • Familiarity with the DSM V and diagnostic techniques. Understanding of consumer’s right to privacy and confidentiality (basic HIPAA principles).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours which may be required.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, maintain confidentiality, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
  • Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.
  • Must have a clear understanding of HIPAA, confidentiality, personal boundaries and be self-assured in a variety of situations.
  • Have the ability to de-escalate and remain calm.
  • Someone who is energetic, with a positive and creative attitude is necessary.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles/practices.  

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

None

 PHYSICAL REQIUREMENTS:  

Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach, drive a vehicle, operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, facsimile, copier/printer, and other business machines. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. Must have safe, dependable vehicle to transport consumers with a valid Colorado Driver License/good driving record.

 WORKING CONDITIONS:

May require occasional evening, or weekend hours depending on program and consumer needs.
