Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Primary responsibility is to provide training and coaching to clinical staff on the appropriate use and navigation of an electronic medical record to ensure high quality service documentation and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities include developing training content and curriculum and serving as a liaison between clinical teams and the quality systems department to ensure alignment with clinical practices and training needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist in conducting classroom training, designing and developing training materials that strengthen clinical staff understanding and use of the electronic medical record, including navigation and quality service delivery.
• Ensure learning and performance objectives are appropriate to the audience and that the training materials meet the learning and performance objectives.
• Build and develop content of necessary online training modules and develop classroom curriculum to support learning objectives.
• Conduct evaluation of training, including development of evaluation methods.
• Provide in person and phone consultation support to clinical staff regarding the electronic medical record system, clinical documentation and related compliance requirements.
• Develop strategies to integrate clinical practices into documentation standards.
• Assist with the mapping and development of training needs and respond to new initiatives and clinical needs as they arise to ensure they are incorporated into the clinical record.
• Provide other classroom training as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and management to design highly effective classroom trainings.
• Review and update documentation training materials annually and incorporate EMR updates and enhancements into training materials.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:


Master’s degree in related field. Licensure preferred. (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)

EXPERIENCE:


Minimum 3 years of experience as behavioral health clinician, manager or training specialist in a behavioral health setting.

• Demonstrated experience in providing engaging and effective training.
• Demonstrated competence in clinical assessment, service planning, and clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles and best practices.
• Superior classroom facilitation skills with experience in adult and blended learning strategies.
• Ability to effectively interact with and relate to all levels of organizational staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate authentically to both peers and management.
• Strong Project Management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good judgment and ability to express thoughts clearly and simply.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
• Competency in basic learning and multimedia training strategies and development.
• Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles/practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Possible supervision of Masters level interns

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
