Job Description

This will be an independent contractor position.


Support the Family Leadership Training Institute by providing facilitation for the retreat, Phase I. Facilitators are mere conduits and are encouraged to provide an environment that contributes to participant’s learning, discovery, and change. Facilitators connect what is happening in the classroom to the local community and assist participants making those connections.


  • Co-facilitate the retreat, Phase I, and attend local graduation.
  • Encourage the success of each participant on an individual basis.
  • Work with the Host agency/community sponsor as appropriate to promote FLTI as a civic initiative and community builder.
  • Work with the site coordinator, Civic Design Team members, Alumni, and others to ensure the success of FLTI in the local community and in the state of Colorado.
  • Be amenable to the FLTI local county/community timeline for FLTI implementation.
  • Understand and promote FLTI principles and practices.
  • Participate in weekly support phone calls with the site coordinator.
  • Help the site coordinators, as needed. For example, site evaluation, civic project support, curricula feedback, local graduation program, etc.
  • Possess commitment to creating positive change in local community by assisting participant engagement in local community.
  • Have knowledge of the history and the dynamics of the local community.
  • Be an alumnus of the Family Leadership Training Institute preferred, but not required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


Family Leadership Training Institute Certified (FLTI)

Required Time Commitment:

  • Three- day facilitator training,
  • Initial full day FLTI retreat,
  • Facilitation of ten sessions for Phase I,
  • Attend local and state graduations,
  • Additional preparation time required outside of retreat and session times,
  • Weekly pre/post session meetings with the site coordinator.


MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:  Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching.  May require lifting up to 50 pounds.   Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
