Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing functional and system testing for software products, including testing for new software, bugs, and ongoing enhancements. For both manual and automated testing, the staff will independently prepare test plans, test cases, review testing checklists, troubleshoot production issues, and work with development team to resolve issues.  The Lead Automation Engineer must be familiar with production systems, lead troubleshooting efforts, and ensure adequate testing of internal products as well as testing third-party software and/or services to ensure that company standards and end-user requirements are met. 

The Lead Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will document all problems and work to resolve them as well as report progress on problem resolution to management.  This includes producing high quality technical and end user documentation to support the ongoing use and maintenance of software products. The Lead Quality Assurance Automation Engineer must communicate proactively and effectively with team members, team leads, project managers, software developers, user personnel, and management on issues.  

This position requires work both executing and building automated test scripts in HP’s Unified Functional Testing platform and other automated testing tools.  These scripts will be built in an object-oriented manner and executed using database driven test data.   

SALARY RANGE: $80,000.00/yr. - $85,000.00/yr.

Essential Functions

  • Test projects in accordance with written business and functional design documentation following established standards to ensure quality assurance.
  • Functional testing of assigned bugs, enhancements and hot fixes.
  • Perform assigned portion of system testing for each release.
  • Coordinate the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the Business Owners and their UAT-responsible personnel.
  • Provide ownership and accountability for assigned testing, keeping supervisor aware of progress and risk associated with milestones.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to meet overall objectives.
  • Develop, maintain and execute test cases, ensuring the quality and stability of the system throughout the project.
  • Identify software defects and manage their lifecycle to ensure quality assurance.
  • Build, organize, and execute automated test scripts using HP’s Unified Functional Testing platform.
  • Ensure that defects in the software products have been corrected and document results of tests.
  • Qualified candidates will have previous working experience with software release cycles and have a basic understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance.
  • Generate technical and end user documentation to support use and maintenance of products.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:


Bachelor’s Degree in IT/CS/IS or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+years of work experience, writing test plans and procedures, tracking errors, documenting results and developing test case scenarios as QA or developer role.
  • Experience creating test scripts, test cases, test plans and running automated tests in a software development environment.
  • Experience testing in all phases of the software development process.
  • Thorough understanding of quality assurance/software testing processes, methodologies, and procedure.
  • Knowledge of the development, test, release and support processes.

Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
