Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a member of a multi-disciplinary child and family team that provides comprehensive services for enrolled children, families, caregivers, and the broader community. The approach of the team is characterized by being strengths-based, family-centered, culturally proficient and community responsive. Utilizing this approach, the position provides outpatient therapeutic support across the lifespan to children, adolescents, caregivers, family systems, as well as individual adults within the Dahlia community. These services are uniquely tailored to the needs of each individual or family being served. This position provides a wide range of interventions that include (but are not limited to): diagnostic mental health assessments; individual, family, play, couples, and group psychotherapy; linkage to case management support and psychiatric services; crisis intervention; coordination and ongoing communication with appropriate collaterals. The individuals and families we work with present with a broad range of bio-psycho-social and mental health needs including trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, and substance abuse, among others. This position is also responsible for maintaining compliance to documentation standards for all work performed.

LCSW - $24.86/hr. - $29.81/hr.

LPC/LMFT - $23.49/hr. - $28.17/hr.

Licenesed Psychologist:  $33.68/hr. - $40.42/hr.

Spanish Language Differential: $2.50/hr.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide diagnostic mental health assessments as well as individual, family, play, couple, and/or group psychotherapy along with crisis intervention and case management support to assigned clients.
  2. Develop treatment plans, monitor treatment progress and follow-up as clinically indicated.
  3. Facilitate the coordination of services for clients with supplemental needs in psychiatric, case management, and medical domains.
  4. Facilitate the client and/or family’s growth and development with an emphasis on strengths, resiliency, and wellbeing.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external partners to support the growth and development of those we serve.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with agency standards.
  7. Participate in team meetings, in-services and supervisory sessions as required.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

Master’s Degree (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, or other human service field. Licensed or license eligible (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist). Additional training in substance abuse preferred (CAC or LAC).

EXPERIENCE:

At least three years’ experience working across the lifespan with children, families, and adults experiencing significant mental health challenges. Play therapy experience preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy. Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately. Clinical assessment and diagnostic skills utilizing the DSM – 5. The ability to focus on what people can do, not on what they can’t do. The ability to partner with clients and families and work alongside them as they shape their treatment. Able to navigate an electronic medical record and utilize technology effectively. The ability to laugh with others and have a sense of humor. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual Spanish required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with program supervision of students/volunteers as determined appropriate.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach, drive, operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, facsimile, copier/printer, and other business machines. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


May require occasional evening, weekend or on-call hours. Some local travel depending on position.
