POSITION SUMMARY: Assisting the V.P. of Strategic Community Partnerships, help champion and manage internal and external projects on the Strategic Community Partnerships team:  Providing comprehensive and creative solutions to meet the mental health and related well-being needs of the community. Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with community, business and government organizations. Develop innovative points of entry into Mental Health Center of Denver’s services and coordinate presentations, events and specialized programming throughout the Denver area. Promote the Mental Health Center of Denver as the provider of choice for supporting the well-being of the community.

SALARY RANGE: $60,000/yr. - $70,000.00/yr.


  1. Help research and manage Strategic Community Partnerships projects, ensuring excellent communications, resource coordination and schedule management.
  2. Develop strong relationships with community stakeholders and organizations that help promote the mental health and well-being of the community.
  3. Represent and promote the Mental Health Center of Denver in the community as the provider of choice for supporting the well-being of all.
  4. At the direction of the V.P., attend community meetings and events and make presentations to community stakeholders.
  5. Ensure communication efforts are effective, strategic, consistent and coordinated.
  6. Update and coordinate with the management team in order to grow and strengthen community relationships.
  7. Provide support to Strategic Community Partnerships team.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree required (area Communications, Mental Health, Business, Org. Development, or similar degree within the scope of Mental Health Center of Denver’s services).

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 2 years of experience working within a mid- to large-sized community-serving organization with outreach, engagement, public relations and/or project coordination duties. Experience working with non-profit organizations, mental health or healthcare is helpful.


  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Some experience with community engagement and interaction preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with project management and innovation concepts such as Agile and Design Thinking preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and outreach skills with the capacity to respond quickly and effectively to community partners and internal constituents alike for collaboration and shared activities.
  • The ability to make plans and follow through, organize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to implement action plans.
  • Ability to communicate with people from all walks of life. Strengths-based orientation (focusing on what people can do).
  • Exceptional organization skills; detail-oriented.
  • Adaptable; able to balance priorities and be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Use initiative and independent judgment; think critically through situations or circumstances that allow autonomous work.
  • Strong work ethic reflecting accountability, responsiveness and commitment to the Mental Health Center of Denver mission.
  • Must be able to work well with diverse populations, including, but not limited to, interacting with employees, those served by Mental Health Center of Denver, Board members/volunteers and community partners.


MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Sitting, standing, bending and reaching.  Carrying/lifting up to 40 lbs. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  May require occasional evening or weekend hours.  Local travel in Denver requiring driving - must have drivers license.
