Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Serve as the primary employee recruiter for the organization, recruiting top talent for key job openings as well as developing a diverse pool of interested, qualified candidates for future openings. Develop, establish and maintain relationships inside and outside the organization that promote individual’s awareness of, interest in, and application to Mental Health Center of Denver. Collaborate with the V.P. of Human Resources, HR staff, Development staff, and other key staff to generate interest in employment with the organization.   

$67,000 - $75,000 annual salary, based on experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, continually monitoring and thoroughly evaluating recruiting services, process, and procedures.
  • Take a positive and proactive stance in working with HR and hiring managers to help determine their position needs. Communicate regularly to establish rapport and source new candidate leads.
  • Conduct regular and timely follow-up with HR and managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • In coordination with our Public Relations & Marketing staff, research and recommend new ways to market our workplace culture, benefits, mission, and values.
  • Identify and implement strategies for passive candidate recruitment.
  • Build broad networks and relationships within all communities – organizations, educational institutions, trade groups, associations, etc.
  • Heavily utilize the cloud-based recruitment solutions, including a variety of social media outlets (utilize current Internet tools, and suggest emerging electronic and technical tools and resources)
  • In coordination with organization leadership, and Public Relations & Marketing staff, help establish and maintain Mental Health Center of Denver as a well-known and recognizable “Best Place to Work.”
  • For key positions, source and maintain regular contact with possible future candidates and the hiring manager.
  • Help coordinate and participate in career fairs, conferences, seminars, meetings for recruiting purposes as well as general organizational recognition (local and nationwide).
  • Conduct prescreening interviews.
  • Assist in interviewing and selecting employees as requested or needed.
  • Coordinate recruiting initiatives, including, but not limited to:  Give presentations at universities, meet with career services, student societies, and similar meetings to increase awareness of the organization.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: Minimum of Bachelors in HR or related field           

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 4 + years active recruitment experience (performing the job functions described above) in healthcare or mental/behavioral health.    

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to develop and execute of recruitment plans, network through business contacts, association memberships, universities, trade groups, and employees.
  •  Knowledge of basic HR employment laws, regulations, anti-discrimination, and similar guidelines. Knowledge of web-recruiting tools, Microsoft programs, emerging social media and technology. 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal and customer service – ability to communicate with diverse audiences. 
  • Identify and solve problems; using initiative and good judgment to reach quality decisions.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects at once and have superior organization skills.
  • Must have valid Colorado Driver License.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None     

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:  Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching.  May require lifting up to 50 pounds.  Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must have CO driver license, be able to work in an office environment (operate office equipment and technology) and travel.  Typically Monday – Friday, but must be flexible with time, as the position will have some evening hours, weekend hours, and occasional travel – travel to attend conferences, seminars, etc.  May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
